Surf City Homes and Community Information
Located in both Pender and Onslow counties, Surf City is on Topsail Island. Just 25 miles south of Jacksonville and Camp Lejeune, home of the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force and The U.S. Marine Corps Special Forces Operations Command, and 25 miles north of Wilmington, is North Carolina's most popular coastal city.
Surf City offers six miles of beaches, three parks, and a community center. It is conveniently located to provide easy access to Highways, 17, 210 and 50. You really can get to Surf City from anywhere. Surf City is the largest of the four unincorporated towns that call the Topsail Region home (Holly Ridge, Topsail Beach, and North Topsail Beach), centrally located between the communities of Hampstead and Sneads Ferry.
Surf City is home to many dining and recreation options and is also home to the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehab Center and the Alston W. Burke Campus of Cape Fear Community College. Surf City, and the area that surrounds it boast a population upwards of 40,000 people on a permanent basis. Surf City is also home to a new 9-hole Disc Golf Course.
Surf City is picturesque with home styles reflecting the proximity to the Atlantic Ocean as evidenced by stilted beach houses and coastal cottages all with iconic sea breezes and captivating views. A number of residential developments call Surf City home including Beachwood, Boca Bay, Buccaneer Beach, and Holiday Heights to same just a few.
For over 65 years, Surf City has been the commercial heart of Topsail Island. The town grew from a small fishing village that was home to a handful of families to a year-round community of over 2,500. The beauty of Surf City in that it is still enjoyed as a place where you can enjoy the beach the way the beach used to be, quiet, peaceful and bucolic.
