Since the Port City’s housing market has expanded by leaps and bounds over the last ten years, it is safe to say that there are starter home properties in virtually every area of the county. Many have appealing built in amenities including swimming pools, clubhouse space and tennis courts. They may be in the form of single-family homes, condos or townhomes.

As for new construction, the northern and southern ends of the county seems to have a larger number of enticing family friendly, modestly priced homes that would be ideal for first time home buyers. There is definitely an abundance of great subdivisions to choose from. House hunters who want to be on the south side will have lots to explore around the areas of College Road/Hwy 132, Carolina Beach Road and Greenville Loop Road. The Ogden, Bayshore and Porters Neck areas have plentiful choices as well. Please note, these are not the only spots in town, but where a lots of of new subdivisions have been springing up!
