Burgaw Real Estate and Community Information
Located 25 minutes west of Wilmington, Burgaw is a charming small town enveloping their motto, "live local". It is also listed in the National Register of Historic Places and features a historic train depot. Burgaw was born as a railroad town.
Burgaw is the county seat of Pender County with a population under five thousand people. The stately courthouse and surrounding town public commons handle the business of Pender County and serve as the backdrop for tv and movies filmed in the area. Most recently, Burgaw and her courthouse re-imagined itself as the fictional town of Chester's Mill and was seen on CBS for three seasons hosting "Under The Dome."

Burgaw is also home to the "Spring Fest" begun in 1978, showcasing homemade crafts and foods with everything displayed and sold being homemade and representative of the many talents of those living in Burgaw and the surrounding area. Burgaw is also home to the North Carolina Blueberry Festival, which brings over 30,000 visitors once a year.
Burgaw has an abundance of parks to provide recreational opportunities to her residents. Hankins Park features a covered pavilion, full playground, and tennis court; Harrell Memorial Park has two lighted tennis courts, Rotary Park has swings, a covered pavilion, picnic tables and a tot lot and Pender Memorial Park offers baseball, softball and soccer fields. Osgood Canal Greenway and Urban Trail meets the needs of Burgaw residents interested is walking or running with loops and trails.
Burgaw residents embrace living local and take great pride in their small town feel. Bordered by thriving forests and bountiful farmlands, Burgaw is only a mere 25 minutes from area beaches or the more metropolitan amenities of Wilmington.
