Glen Meade
Originally developed to attract medical professionals and their families, Glen Meade is by far one of the loveliest subdivisions in Wilmington. Conveniently located off of 17th Street and Oleander Drive, and adjacent to the campus of New Hanover Regional Medial Center, it has long been regarded as one of the Port City's upscale neighborhoods.
Large, deep lots, sidewalks and plenty of tasteful landscaping, are just a few of the reasons why Glen Meade is so appealing. Mature plantings can include bushels of flowering bulbs such as daffodils and tulips plus Old South favorites like azaleas and dogwoods. It's no wonder Glen Meade is a frequent stop on local garden tours. Stately homes reflect classic architectural styles, including, Williamsburg, Colonial and Georgian. The fact that its development began in the 1960s and continued through the 2000s, is also a testament to Glen Meade's popularity!
